thatgamecompany’s long awaited 3rd-person wanderer Journey will see release in Japan on March 15th, according to Famitsu.
Journey’s developers went on record a while ago saying that the downloadable game was ready for release pending Sony’s approval. If an official release has been set in Japan, we should hear about plans in the West sometime soon.
thatgamecompany’s previous efforts, “Flow” and “Flower”, are always used as examples for videogames that qualify as works of art. That reputation will continue with Journey, a game where you can activate ancient articacts and collect items, but the real goal is to simply traverse the world.
