The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings garnered my game of the year last year and it may very well be the only game to get it again this year. Why? Because Warner Bros. announced yesterday that an Xbox 360 port of The Witcher 2 will be released on April 17. While The Witcher 2 was previously PC-exclusive, members of the CD Projekt Red, the team behind the game, have repeatedly said that this is not simply a port of the PC version; it is an adaptation. Console players should expect the same quality of game experienced by PC gamers last year.
The Xbox 360 version, dubbed The Enhanced Edition, will feature all the updates that PC versions has seen since its launch, including some that have not been released yet. The Witcher 2 was released last year on PC on May 17 and has seen over a million copies sold. CD Projekt Red has had some problems with releasing the game because of a dispute with Namco Bandai concerning publishing rights for basically everywhere that is not North America. Hopefully this announcement means that they has reached an agreement. Regardless, I know what my most anticipated game of 2012 is, and hopefully many more people will be able to experience this amazing (and amazingly graphically intensive) game.
