- News, Nintendo Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 byNick
Sega has announced that Gearbox Software’s Aliens: Colonial Marines has been delayed to February 13th, 2013. Aliens: Colonial Marines has a particularly troubled history. It was originally announced in 2006, until cutbacks at Gearbox Software in 2008 forced them to shelve development for a while. In 2011, Sega said the game would release in “Spring 2012.” Then, in Spring 2012, they said “Fall 2012.” Now it has slipped into February of 2013, joining Bioshock Infinite in what is becoming an oddly packed post-holiday release season. Sega notes that the February date does not apply to the Wii-U version, and that…

Activision has announced that they will be releasing Tony Hawk 3 levels as the first paid DLC for Tony Hawk HD. The HD collection will only have levels from the first two games at launch, but it is good to hear that some of the fantastic levels from the first game will be featuring a return. It is unknown which levels will make the cut, but Activision is asking for suggestions on the Tony Hawk HD Facebook page, though Tony Hawk will have the final say. Currently Tony Hawk HD is set for release this July.

In the midst of all the doom-and-gloom fiscal reports we’ve been seeing lately, it’s easy to think that gaming is doomed and everyone’s going to shut down in the coming years. But finally, some good news comes from a company that no one would have really expected it from, as Square Enix reports that their last fiscal year was better than the year before.

Another Disney/Pixar Summer blockbuster; another video game tie-in for easy birthday present gifting for all of our young nephews and nieces. This time the Pixar flex lamp focus is on Brave–their soon to be released animated fantasy adventure staring the spunkiest red headed heroine this side of Anastasia. The game is being developed in house by Disney Interactive Media Group (folks behind the surprisingly okay Tron Evolution game) and is slated for a June 19th release on nearly all platforms (PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, 3DS)- beating the theatrical release of the film by a mere three days. Check out the trailer below Despite my nominee for…
Move like Jagger at home: Dance Central 2 Now on XBLA
Harmonix is now giving the small and likely non-existent shut-in Kinect owner demographic no excuse to not own last year’s booty shaking extravaganza Dance Central 2 by placing the game as a featured download through Microsoft’s Games on Demand program. Dance Central 2 features simultaneous solo, competitive and cooperative dancing scored to a wide ranging hits from artists like Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Digital Underground and Daft Punk. The vastly renovated “Learn It” training mode will help even the most hopeless unrhythmic achieve a mild degree of structure to their floundering. And for the few still clinging onto the original Dance Central can emit a sigh of…
Minecraft Shatters XBLA Download Records And Is Already Profitable
I think we were kind of curious about how Minecraft would do on the 360. Of course, there are going to be a lot of people who heard about Minecraft but didn’t really have a computer to run it on (though it doesn’t look like it would take much to run it on. Hey, remember when Minecraft ran on a website?), or just didn’t like PC gaming, but still wanted to try the game. Minecraft is definitely in the gaming zeitgeist, having marketed Notch and Mojang to fame, and they’re slowly putting the game out anywhere they can.
New Van Helsing Game Announced
The Hungarian games studio NeoCoreGames, the makers of the King Arthur RPG/RTS, have announced that they will be working on a new action RPG The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. You will play as the son of the Van Helsing from the original Dracula. The company has promised an game with a dark, yet humorous, story taking place in Eastern Europe as you fight all manner of monsters in gothic scenery. This game seems to have no relation to the Hugh Jackman movie, which is too bad as I thought it was pretty neat.
