Battlefield 3 Close Quarters - Donya Fortress screen 6

Battlefield 3′s Close Quarters DLC gets a trailer

A handful more details surrounding Battlefield 3‘s first DLC expansion, Close Quarters, have been released along with a new gameplay trailer. Unsurprisingly, EA’s aim is to steal the thunder from Call Of Duty by letting players shoot it out in tight indoor environments, instead of Battlefield‘s usual vast fields and warzones. The meat and bones of the DLC will comprise of four new maps and ten new weapons that span the entire spectrum of firearms, from sniper rifles to shotguns. There are also new assignments and dog tags to collect. With an asking price of $14.99/1200MSP, Close Quarters certainly isn’t playing…

Microsoft Planning Cross-Platform Music Service for E3 Reveal

Technology site The Verge has the scoop on one of the things Microsoft will be announcing at their E3 press conference this year, though it isn’t strictly games-related. “Woodstock” is the code name for Microsoft’s new cross-platform music streaming service, which will replace the Zune app. The service is rumored to resemble Spotify and Rdio in functionality, allowing you to access a large collection of music anywhere there’s an internet connection. Microsoft is making sure that their new music service is readily available for all; “Woodstock” will be accessible on Windows 8, Android, iOS, Xbox 360, Windows Phone, and from any…

NBA Baller Beats is a Kinect Game That Will Ruin Your Living Room

Game developer Majesco, with the help of USA Today (!), announced a new Kinect exclusive for this Fall called NBA Baller Beats. You might want to stow your breakables before we explain the game to you. You know how NBA players sometimes dribble around just to show off how good they are with a basketball? NBA Baller Beats is a rhythm game based on this concept. While no gameplay footage is shown in the trailer above, the USA Today exclusive describes what happens on screen, ”Players bounce the ball to the beat of the music; your visual cue is a line…

Rayman Origins Feature Image

Ubisoft Marketing Survey Hints at Rayman Origins Sequel

A marketing survey sent out by Arkenford (Ubisoft’s marketing firm of choice) contained details regarding a sequel to last year’s sleeper hit, Rayman Origins. Along with a few screenshots, the survey claims that the next Rayman Origins game will have, “legendary worlds filled with castles, vampires, ghosts, Greek gods or dragons.” This is a far cry from the original, which featured more outlandish nature settings. Rayman Origins is a beautiful platformer that hearkens back to the glory days of side-scrolling adventure. The game garnered a lot of critical acclaim and stuck around on the charts for a long time, even if it…

Batman: Arkham City Gets Epilogue DLC and Game of the Year Treatment (Updated 4/24)

Update (4/24): Warner Bros. has confirmed that both the epilogue DLC and the game of the year package will be heading to the PC, but no release date has been given for either. I will update the post when the dates are official. The PC version of Arkham City launched about a month after the console versions, so that seems like a reasonable expectation here as well. Original Story: Given how many game of the year lists Batman: Arkham City was on last year (seven on our site), it’s no surprise that Rocksteady would choose to update The Caped Crusader’s latest adventure with some…

Prey 2 Kerfuffle Cleared Up; Delayed Beyond 2012

After the rather upsetting rumor popped up a couple of weeks back about Prey 2 possibly being canceled, I can breath a slight sigh of relief to see that it’s not canceled. Huzzah! This gives developer Human Head a lot more time to work on it, too, hopefully developing it to the point where it can realize the potential the apparently awesome E3 demo had on show. The press release put out by Bethesda really emphasizes that the delay is going to be used to make sure the game is the highest possible quality possible, citing that so far, development…
